Am I correct about this?

Abilities are spells learned from your trainer. Every two levels (the even ones...until you hit 60, then every level till 70) you can learn new spells and abilities from your class trainer.
Talents grant upgrades to spells and abilities as well as boost your stats or teach you new spells and abilities. For every level you gain starting at level 10, you gain one talent point that you can alot to which ever talent you choose (some talents require a certain number of points already be invested in that talent tree).
At your class trainer, you can opt to unlearn your talents, which will clear your talent trees and refund any talent points you have earned so you are free to distribute them again.
Sometimes, unlearning your talents will in turn cause you to have to relearn some abilities and spells from your class trainer.
Certain abilites from the class trainer are only available if you already have certain talents learned (ie you must have learned Aimed Shot rank 1 in your Marksmanship talent tree in order to learn Aimed Shot rank 2 from your class trainer).
Yes, you are correct that you must visit a weapons trainer to learn any other weapon skills that you did not start with. If you ask any city guard, they will direct you to the city's weapons trainer. Each trainer will tell you where the other trainers are and what weapon skills they can
FFXI: DRK 55, WAR 30, THF 27, DRG 27 (all retired)
WoW: Hunter 70, Warrior 29, Druid 26, Warlock 22, Shaman 19 (all retired)
EQII: Shadowknight 36 (retired)
Back into FFXI while waiting for FFXIV are a commitment of points, while learned from Hunter Trainers only cost money and you can have all that your level will allow as long as you can pay for them.
Further, you can re-train abilities, but you can't re-train talents.
You will have to visit various weapons trainers to gain different weapons skills.
Is that all correct?
Thanks
