No easy answer here. I imagine that if you stacked resilience by purchasing available PvP rings, backs, trinkets, boots etc you could make up for losing the resilience from the S2 shoulders and legs. You will never, of course, make up for the loss of the great 4-piece bonus from PvP gear (that run speed is amazing) but the T4 bonus isn’t bad either.
And as a feral druid who Arenas w a resto shaman, let me say….prepare to lose. A ton.Feral druid in that even exist? heh, j/k
Anyway, I would say keep 2 t4 (imo, shoulder and helm, but if you prefer shoulder and leg, go for it) and glad all the rest. Maybe, get the Staff of the Forest Lord instead of S2 weapon. IMO, it would be a better choice.
Keep in mind that, most likely, you wont be past 1600, if that much. Feral druid just cant kill anyone because the old(?) crit X make a long story short I’ve put my raiding career on hold. Now I am beginning to PvP. I never really got into the PvP side of the game. For no reason really, the PVE side of the game was just more intriguing I guess. However a RL friend transfered over to my realm so we could start a 2v2 team. He is a resto shammy and I am a feral druid. I understand this combo most likely won’t get us too far but thats another story.
My first question is should I get rid of my 2 piece T4 (shoulders and legs) anytime soon? It would kill me to have to take it off. It has been a staple on my character sheet for quite some time.
here is [link=my
(for some reason I have a couple tanking pieces on.. for pvp my boots = barkchip boots, back = epic pve piece, neck = blue pve piece.. ill change it when I get home)
I am aiming to save up for my S2 wep but the rings and neck piece are very inticing.
My only other question is which route would you take?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Gratz to you as well. I really can’t speak about ZA at the moment(draggin thru with undergeared). But 2 healing ZA is the way to go for a bear mount.

The best part of all of this, after splitting off from my old guild and forming a new raiding guild our group was completely new at playing with each other. God bless a t6 hit/expertise capped warrior tank.-

Some exuberant of an accomplishment that had you on cloud 9 might not be enough of a “real point” for the O-boards, but it’ll work
If ya wanna look me up and make fun of my gear and/or spec, I’m Thaytakeye, a Level 80 Furball Druid on right, it finally happened. I got to MT the first 4 bosses in Hyjal last night. We one shotted them all, it was freaking amazing to be the man in front, takin all the damage that the bosses could dish out,….only to be told by the healers that they were fairly bored, lol.

Kodohide Healing gear at 80
Monday, March 29th, 2010Spirit is actually better for mana regen than mp5 for druids. Especially if you’re going to be resto. All that spirit will give people a reason to finally spec 3/3 into Living Spirit and people are going to be getting mana back even faster.
Hell, when I was resto with just around 600 spirit pre patch I never ever ran out of mana because of my spirit being so ungodly high.
But, on a side note. Blizzard has made it possible to wear pvp gear for resto end game at 80.-
Arex ~ Druid ? Ciant ~ Paladin
Maybe I missed something about a change to the spirit stat and how it relates to druids, but if I didn’t, I found something that has me more than slightly concerned.. Nay, agitated.
I was browsing mmo-champion and caught a glimpse of the new 80 pvp gear available to each class and I got excited because I really liked the way they were doing it this time with rating requirements for all pieces and decent honor gear to start with… but I noticed that the healing gear for druids has Spirit on it and ZERO mana/5 regen. How exactly is that going to work?
I know spirit helps with innervate, and very minorly with actual healing power, but I can’t ever remember a time in open that I was out of the 5 seconds no casting time (for spirit regen to kick in) for more than one or two seconds at a time, and if I ever was, oh hey sit and drink.
I looked at the shaman gear and it’s littered with mana/5 and I’d far prefer that to spirit. Anyone else feel the same way or did I miss something?

Upgrade Druid Teleport
Saturday, March 27th, 2010Lore-wise it doesn’t make sense. Moonglade is THE Druid area. Lore-wise, we all know how to teleport there because we’ll spend hundreds of years at a time hibernating there in the Barrows to visit and protect the Emerald Dream. A lot of people seem to forget that’s the purpose of druids: we protect and tend to the Emerald Dream. How? Beats me.
Also, Cenarian Expedition =/= Cenarian Circle reputation. The Enclave in Zangarmarsh is thus not connected to us directly. Lore-wise, obviously it’s similar, but even in lore they’ve broken off from the main Circle body a bit anyway. -Naoki – level 66 Mage on Skywall
Aureliano the Insane – level 80 Druid on Sen’Jin
Junkboxing – level 80 Rogue on Sen’Jin
Noaki – level 58 Warlock on Sen’JinI think that, while it would be nice to be able to port there (especially while leveling), it isn’t the same kind of teleport. That probably needs some more explaining… Porting to moonglade is useless, except for training new spells, and getting to felwood or winterspring quickly. With a port to zangarmarsh, you could get anywhere in vanilla or tbc in less than 10 minutes via shattrath. It is a whole ‘nother ballgame in terms of usefulness. It would feel like a mage; useful teleports are kind of their thing, druids aren’t going to get a piece of that action. The moonglade teleport was always for class quests and flavor.
Edited, Dec 6th 2008 7:06pm by anonymosityWe should be able to teleport to Cenarian village in Zangarmarsh, now that we have two expansions to explore. They could either upgrade our current spell, or let us have an additional one.
What do you guys think?
An analysis of 3.1 Tanking
Friday, March 26th, 2010Quote:Where the heck is he getting 8 expertise cap from
Probably got confused with Hit. I actually noticed many people making the same mistake… :/
And yeah, about the changes, they don’t seem that bad after all. The stam loss is unarguably a nerf, but we can still do very well, and SD isn’t even implemented yet. The armor loss is more like a balance thing, since we would’ve ended up capped real soon, losing part of the benefit of upgrading gear in the long run. I’m not too worried of the Nightfall – Tauren Feral DruidPlus expertise soft caps at 6.5 not 8. Where the heck is he getting 8 expertise cap from?
I wouldn’t pay much mind to his post at all or that thread in its current state.
-Day light savings is for fools.
I started reading the first post in the link.
That druid is stacking stam and wearing the polar set…. I laughed.
Going to finish reading it now.-Day light savings is for fools.
Normally I dislike linking the Oboards, but I know many druid tanks are worried about the overhaul of our tanking powers come 3.1. I keep hearing people talk about how it’s a massive nerf. I had little experience to go on, so had little idea what really all of it meant. The link is one guy’s analysis of his own experience using the new system on the PTR (which currently the blues are saying it looks like it is near its final form, as far as the shield mechanic works anyway), including some basic mathematical analysis. Also, before criticizing his breakdown, I ask you read both pages of the thread as he does try to followup with more information as people ask for it. I hope this helps people understand the new system, and having read it things do sounds like they might be good….I hope…
Edited title since there seems to be some disagreement on the quality of the analysis…

Tier bonuses – do they stack?
Thursday, March 25th, 2010As of now, the best dps setup is 2 pc T9 and then offset pieces for all other slots. The 2pcT9 bonus is actually a pretty decent dps increase and if you figure that extra 3 seconds makes your rotation easier, it is even better.
The difference between the T9 shoulders alone and Duststalker is minimal. I’d get the T9 so you’re prepared for when you are able to get a second piece for the – 80 Feral Drood
Gavinitis – 80 Shammy
“OH SHlT SON ArexCool thanks.
Is there any advantage to buying the T9 shoulders over the Duststalkers that I’m just not seeing? I won’t have an additional piece of T9 for quite a while, and to be honest the T9 2piece bonus doesn’t seem all that exciting to me either.Yes, if you have 2 pieces of tier 8 equipped and 2 pieces of tier 9 equipped, you will receive the 2 piece bonus from each set. In some cases this is actually the best way to go.-Galenmoon – 80 Feral Drood
Gavinitis – 80 Shammy
“OH SHlT SON ArexI’ve had a look around the net but can’t find the answer to this one…
Say if I had 2 pieces of Tier 8 gear, and 2 pieces of Tier 9 gear, would I gain both 2-piece set bonuses or would the Tier 9 the Tier 8?
Obviously I won’t be going out of my way to make this happen, I’m just wondering really.
edit: reason for asking is I’m trying to find a reason for buying the T9 shoulders over the Duststalker Pauldrons . The Duststalkers have massively better stats and I have the T8 2-piece bonus (chest/head).

Hunters Guild
Tuesday, March 23rd, 2010Stuff like this gets me excited. Although it IS better to have some healers and other classes in your guild, I’ve done plenty of 5-mans with nothing but my other members of my guild’s “hunter possee.” (to include LBRS…and with nothing more than blues and a few pvp epics for gear). Have one pure Beast Spec to tank (usually with a screeching, growling bird), mend pet (maybe) and give Ferocious Inspiration. Have at least one marksman for improved hunter’s mark and trueshot aura. Have at least 1 survivalist for Wyvern sting and Expose Weakness. EVERYONE has 3/3 Entrapment and 2/2 Clever Traps for CC and Entrapment frost slick that everyone can kite back and forth across. Have everyone coordinate their stun/interrupts over Teamspeak (Intimidate, Silencing Shot, Scatter). Have plenty of engineers for bombs and jumper cables that will invariably fail. Oh…and one other minor HAS to know what they’re doing…and how to play “hot potato” with particularly tough mobs/bosses and adds.
Of course, deaths happen, and this isn’t exactly efficient for getting drops…but it’s plenty fun; cures boredom and everybody learns a new trick/technique or two. -~NibbsA Guild is best when it brings people together who can lend mutual assistance and complementary skills to each other.
Do what you want in the game, and good luck to you. But I suspect that your Hunter-only Guild will find that there will be more conflict because everyone will want the same drops, there will be a lack of Healing in your groups, and a lot of BOP drops more suitable for other classes will be picked up for vendoring or will be DE rather than being used.
On the other hand, each group of 5 will have 5 Pets to assist, and it might be a lot of fun. Let me know if it works out, and be sure to get good screen shots. -Hunter Pet information links:

Am I correct about this?
Monday, March 22nd, 2010Abilities are spells learned from your trainer. Every two levels (the even ones…until you hit 60, then every level till 70) you can learn new spells and abilities from your class trainer.
Talents grant upgrades to spells and abilities as well as boost your stats or teach you new spells and abilities. For every level you gain starting at level 10, you gain one talent point that you can alot to which ever talent you choose (some talents require a certain number of points already be invested in that talent tree).
At your class trainer, you can opt to unlearn your talents, which will clear your talent trees and refund any talent points you have earned so you are free to distribute them again.
Sometimes, unlearning your talents will in turn cause you to have to relearn some abilities and spells from your class trainer.
Certain abilites from the class trainer are only available if you already have certain talents learned (ie you must have learned Aimed Shot rank 1 in your Marksmanship talent tree in order to learn Aimed Shot rank 2 from your class trainer).
Yes, you are correct that you must visit a weapons trainer to learn any other weapon skills that you did not start with. If you ask any city guard, they will direct you to the city’s weapons trainer. Each trainer will tell you where the other trainers are and what weapon skills they can
FFXI: DRK 55, WAR 30, THF 27, DRG 27 (all retired)
WoW: Hunter 70, Warrior 29, Druid 26, Warlock 22, Shaman 19 (all retired)
EQII: Shadowknight 36 (retired)
Back into FFXI while waiting for FFXIV are a commitment of points, while learned from Hunter Trainers only cost money and you can have all that your level will allow as long as you can pay for them.
Further, you can re-train abilities, but you can’t re-train talents.
You will have to visit various weapons trainers to gain different weapons skills.
Is that all correct?
Thanks

Orc, Be, Troll? PVP.
Saturday, March 20th, 2010You forgot Tauren.
To further break it down, let’s look at your options.
Orc: The proud race of the horde, stats are normally higher for str and stamina then they are for int and agility, but base stats don’t play that much of an important role in end-game, since gear makes up for it.
Command – +5 Damage for all pets, excellent talent to have for your pets, and going into BM for your spec will just increase this even better, making Orc Pet’s the most damaging pets in the game. (Passive)
Blood Fury – Increases attack power by about 4 per character level (282 at 70), but reduces healing effects on you 50. Lasts 15 sec. Excellent for pvp since you won’t be healed that often unless you’re with a group you know. (Activated)
Hardiness – 15 resistance to stun and knockback effects. Used to be 25 But still helpful for pvp situations. (Passive)
Axe Specialization – +5 to axe skill. Again this could prove useful if you manage to get a 2-hander axe with nice stats, or 2 1-handed axes and you find yourself in melee. (Passive)
Troll: Trolls in general receive more int and agility, rather then str and sta, making them excellent hunters and rogues, but again base stats aren’t that important late game.
Berserking – Increases your attack speed by 10 to 30 The given is based off of how much HP you have remaining. At full health you only receive the 10 boost, when you’re really hurting you will receive the 30 boost. Great for pvp, and when combined with Rapid Fire makes you a machine gun. (Activated)
Regeneration – 10 Health regeneration bonus, 10 active in combat. Another good talent to have, we can never have enough HP regen. Great for lowering downtime. (Passive)
Beast Slaying – 5 damage bonus against beasts. Good for pve mostly, allows trolls to be one of the most damaging hunters when it comes to slaying beasts. (Passive)
Throwing Specialization – +5 to Throwing Weapon skill. Not all that useful for us hunters since we use bows and guns not throwing axes/knives. (Passive)
Bow Specialization – +5 to Bow Weapon Skills. One of the best given talents for any hunters. +5 is like giving you an extra level. So at 70, you’ll be firing off your Bow as if you were 71. Just make sure to find a decent bow. (Passive)
Tauren: The brute force of the horde, big, strong, and bulky these walking hamburgers tend to receive more stamina and str over any of the other hunters.
War Stomp – Stuns up to 5 opponents within 8 yards, lasts 2 seconds, and has a 2 minute cooldown. Great for pvp to try to gain some distance on your opponents, or to interrupt a spell casting. (Activated)
Endurance – +5 Max HP. What hunter couldn’t use more HP? (Passive)
Cultivation – +15 skill to Herbalism. Had to throw it in there for thoroughness =P (Passive)
Nature Resist – +10 Nature Resist. A percentage of this also goes to your pet as well. Could prove useful against druids in pvp, but msot tend not to pay much attention to resists. (Passive)
Blood Elf: The new race of the horde, focusing more on int and agility. They have the potential of having the highest MP pool for any hunter, but again this plays a small roll in high-end.
Arcane Affinity – +10 enchanting skill. Not very useful for pvp, but hey you can enchant stuff earlier then others. (Passive)
Arcane Torrent – Silences all enemies within 8 yards by 2 seconds. Also gives you 5 + 1/Level Mana restored per Mana Tap charge currently affecting you. Instant cast with a 2 minute cooldown. Could prove to be very useful in pvp, since the only other way we have to silence people is through Silencing Shot which you won’t receive until lvl 50 if you go strictly into MM. (Activated)
Magic Resist – +5 to all resists. Great for starting out, since no other race receives this kind of bonus. A percentage also goes to your pet, giving them 2-3 points of resist all the time. Not that great, but hey it’s a start. (Passive)
Mana Tap – Reduces targets mana by 51 and charges you with Arcane energy for 10 minutes. Can stack up to 3 times making your Arcane Torrent give back more mana. Amount of mana tapped from target is 50 + 1/Level. Has a 30 yard range, instant cast, and a 30 second cooldown. (Activated)
Suggestion?
Think of what you would enjoy most playing pvp wise. If you want a bit more resist to stun, having your pet deal a little extra damage, and also being able to boost your attack power (and your pets since he takes a percentage), Orc may be for you.
On the other hand if you want a nice regeneration bonus, +5 skill to bows so you can hit your target more often, and a nice hastening buff that stacks with Rapid Fire, Troll would be the way to go.
If you’d like to stand out in pvp with a little more HP, as well as the ability to stun people that come to close to you, the Tauren would be straight up your ally.
Last but not least, if you want a smaller character, who can drain mana without using viper sting, and also silence without using Silencing Shot, then Blood Elf would be your best bet.
Conclusion:
I can give you all the reasons in the world why I chose Orc over any other race when I first started, but if you’re set on playing a Blood Elf, there’s nothing I can say that would persuade you otherwise. Go with what you feel you will have the most fun playing in the – Surivalist – Level 80 Orc Hunter
